ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS

You will be the envy of the crowd by actually being a part of our our tortoise display and getting right in with these grand creatures.

These guys absolutely love pats and cuddles and you can watch them chew through their lunch - cool as a cucumber!

Timing and Days

• One Tortoise encounter is held daily.
• Encounters run from 1.00pm - 1.20pm. Participants must meet at the Information & Tour Desk 10 minutes prior to encounter.

Price and Guest Limit

• $30 per person (does not include admission). Admission can be paid on arrival at the Zoo.
• No age restrictions.
• Maximum of 6 people per encounter.

Bookings

• Bookings can be made at the Information & Tour Desk by 12.30pm on the day of the encounter or can be made in advance by calling (07) 5436 2002 or email us via our contact form.

Extras

• Includes one Australia Zoo gift per person.

Terms and Conditions

1. The Tortoise encounter has no age restrictions, however, all children must be accompanied to the enclosure by a supervising adult.
2. All participants must agree to follow instructions given by the handlers.
3. Participants may be asked to leave the enclosure at any time during the encounter at the handlers' discretion.
4. Please ensure that you wash your hands both before and after the encounter.
5. No personal items are permitted into the enclosure during the experience, with the exception of cameras.
6. Please remember that Aldabran Tortoises are extremely heavy and have very sharp beaks.
7. Please do not attempt to climb or sit upon the tortoises.
8. Australia Zoo does not take any responsibility for any injuries that are received during the experience. First Aid will be called if required.
9. An Australia Zoo photographer will be present during the encounter to capture the action. Photos will be available for viewing and purchase from the Fujifilm photography lab 30 minutes after the encounter has taken place. Price includes one Australia Zoo gift per person.
