Have a go at this! Australia Zoo is bursting at the seams with excitement as Zoo guests can now participate in an encounter with our gorgeous troop of Ring-tailed Lemurs!

The encounter will take you behind the scenes to meet our cheeky lemur boys! You will be able to get up close and personal with these guys and you may even get the chance the hand feed them! With our knowledgeable and friendly keeper’s right there to answer any questions, you will learn all about this playful species.

The encounter also includes a sneak peak at the future plans for our lemur troop and a glimpse at our two Black and White Ruffed Lemurs!

Package Details

Timing and Days

• One Lemur encounter is held daily.
• There are only 4 spaces available per encounter.
• Patrons need to book by 10.30am and meet at the information counter by 10:40am.

Bookings

• Bookings need to be made at the Information Desk by 10.30am on the day of the encounter.
• Pre-bookings can be made prior to your visit by calling Australia Zoo Tour Desk on 5436 2002.
• Available only to participants who are eight (8) years of age and above

Extras

• A professional photographer will take photos of your encounter. These photos are available for purchase from our photography lab 30 minutes after completion.
• Includes one 6x4 photograph.
  

Terms and Conditions

1. Lemur Encounters are available to participants who are 8 years of age and above only. One parent may accompany their child but will not be allowed inside the Lemur enclosure.
2. Closed in shoes must be worn at all times during the encounter.
3. All participants must agree to follow all instructions given by the handlers at all times.
4. Participants may be asked to cease the encounter at any time for whatever reason at the handler’s discretion.
5. Please ensure that your hands are clean prior to beginning the encounter.
6. No personal items or food are permitted during the encounter with the exception of cameras.
7. Do not under any circumstances attempt to pat or roughly handle the Lemurs.
8. This will be an informal session and interaction with Lemurs may vary. All interaction will be instigated by the Lemurs’.
9. Australia Zoo does not take any responsibility for any injuries that are received, including scratches and bites. First Aid will be called if required.
10. An Australia Zoo photographer will be present during the encounter to capture the action. Photos taken will be available for purchase from the Fuji Photography lab. (One photo is included in the cost of encounter.)
11. The Lemur Encounter will be cancelled if weather is bad and a refund given.
12. Patrons with Cold and Flu symptoms cannot be permitted on the encounter.
