Lexi's Special Day

We thought we would add a more personal touch this time round, as it has been a very exciting time for us celebrating the marriage of one of our crew, Lexi. Lex joined the team in September 2005, after a short time in the Australia Zoo volunteer program. Through her dedication and love of her job, Lex recently gained the position of second in charge of the department. She has developed a wonderful bond with all our show birds but has an extra special relationship with her 'other man' Queto the Blue and Gold Macaw.
Lexi tied the knot with Kevin at The Sanctuary, Forest Glen on Sunday February 17. Now the team does dedicate a huge chunk of their time to the training and care of their show birds, but it was great that three of us were able to join the happy couple on their special day.
The day went off without a hitch with the bride arriving fashionably late at 11.45am for her 11am wedding! Kevin managed to bring the whole place to tears with a speech that any man would be hard pressed to beat!
On another note, it is Queto's fourth birthday today and I'm sure he is eagerly awaiting a postcard from Cairns where Lexi and Kevin are honeymooning. We all would like to wish Kevin and Lexi the happiest life possible together. Best of luck to you both!
