Bindi and a turtle
1. Parents or adult guardians must take responsibility for participating children at ALL TIMES and accompany the children participating in the encounter. Minimum age requirement is three (3) years and over.
2. As these encounters form part of the turtles' enrichment program, it will not be a formal session.
3. All participants must agree to follow all instructions given by the handlers, especially regarding the feeding process and when around the pond, as this area can be slippery.
4. Participants may be asked to cease the encounter for whatever reason at the handlers’ discretion.
5. Please ensure that you wash your hands both before and after the encounter.
6. Participants are required to wear sensible footwear at all times during the encounter.
7. No personal items or human food are permitted during the encounter, with exception of cameras and video cameras. Any excess items can be stored at the information counter for the duration of your encounter.
8. Please remember that Freshwater Turtles have very sharp beaks and are quite capable of inflicting a serious bite.
9. Do not under any circumstances attempt to pat or roughly handle the turtles.
10. Australia Zoo does not take responsibility for any injuries that are received during the encounter, including bites. First Aid will be called if required.
11. An Australia Zoo photographer will be present during the encounter to capture the action. All photos taken will be available for purchase from the Fujifilm Photography Lab.
