Crikey! Two-hundred and thirty passengers boarded a 767 today (March 23, 2008) to participate in Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Charity Appeal and visit Australia Zoo!
Qantas Victoria launched a charity flight in February that offers passengers a very special package that includes a flight to Brisbane, transfers from the airport and entry to Australia Zoo. The annual charity event aims to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Australia Zoo also offered passengers the chance to get up close and personal to some of our gorgeous wildlife offering ‘money cant buy’ experiences as auction items with funds going to the hospital.
This year the event raised nearly $103,000 which will go towards purchasing equipment and funding research projects to assist the many children treated by the hospital each year.
The Appeal has been running since 1987 and has raised a ripper $2 million for children with life threatening diseases.
